Google Drive Migration Tool
MigrationFox makes it easy to migrate files from or to Google Drive — including My Drive, Shared Drives, and Google Workspace native files. Whether you're moving to SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, or Amazon S3, every file, folder, and permission is handled automatically.
Google Workspace Export Formats
Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides are cloud-native formats that don't exist as traditional files. MigrationFox automatically exports them to Microsoft Office formats during transfer:
- Google Docs →
.docx(Microsoft Word) - Google Sheets →
.xlsx(Microsoft Excel) - Google Slides →
.pptx(Microsoft PowerPoint) - Google Drawings →
.pdf
No manual conversion step is needed. The export happens in-flight during the migration.
Shared Drive Support
MigrationFox fully supports Google Shared Drives (formerly Team Drives). You can browse and select individual Shared Drives as your source, migrate the entire drive or specific folders, and preserve the complete folder hierarchy at the destination.
Authentication uses a Google service account with Domain-Wide Delegation, giving you access to all user drives and Shared Drives across the organization without needing individual user credentials.
Permission Migration
Google Drive permissions — Viewer, Commenter, and Editor — are mapped to the equivalent permission levels on the destination platform. MigrationFox reads the sharing ACL for each file and folder, then applies the closest matching permission at the destination.
- Viewer → Read access
- Commenter → Read access (most platforms don't have a commenter role)
- Editor → Write / Contribute access
Supported Migration Paths
Google Drive to SharePoint
The most common path. Migrate Shared Drives to SharePoint document libraries with full permission mapping and path sanitization for SharePoint's character restrictions.
Google Drive to OneDrive
Move individual user drives to OneDrive for Business during a Workspace-to-M365 transition.
Google Drive to Dropbox
Transfer files to Dropbox Business with folder structure and sharing settings preserved.
Google Drive to Amazon S3
Archive Google Drive content to S3 buckets for long-term storage or compliance.
